The Twins
Chapter 1
This is a story of a prophesy like no other. Two people destined for glory and fame but there is always a price to fame and always a hard way to glory and always a down side. Two very unique people from a very different world than what we know, exciting isn’t it, but enough of me talking, read it for yourself and find out.
It was a dark night on the island of Lunasole, of course but that night was an even darker night in particular for that night two babies were born, twins, Apolla and Artemis. “Aries do you have Artemis” said Serse. “Yes Lady Serse I have Artemis” said Aries “Please don’t call me Lady it sounds to formal just call me Serse.” said Serse and at that the twins where separated 1,000 miles away from each other so that the evil Lord Aron couldn’t find them. Apolla now called Lucinda or Luce as most call her has a pretty good life. She has great parents named Emily and Luke Evans; she also has a great house and honest friends too. Luce plays a lot of sports including softball, basketball, and volleyball and had a love for music even though she didn’t play an instrument, she wrote songs and sang. She is one of the cutest girl in school. She has sandy blond hair, about normal height, and purple eyes is most unique about her. She is always surrounded by people whom she loves and yet there is something missing from her life and she’ll soon find out. “Mom what’s the matter?” Luce called to her mother as she entered the kitchen one morning. It was unusual for her mom to be crying. “Oh nothing I’m just emotional today” her mom said. “Are you sure?” Luce said curiously. “Yes, would you like some eggs Luce?” her mom said sniffling back tears. Later that night Luce over heard her parents talking. “Luce has a right to know” Emily said “Yes but not now it’s to soon” Luke said. That night she lied in bed tossing and turning at what that something it was that her mom and dad were talking about. She couldn’t help it the next morning she just had to know what it was and said “what was it you where talking about last night.” Her parents look at her like she was crazy. Which meant that there really was something up that they weren’t telling her. They came up with the lame excuse “what, we weren’t talking about anything you should know about just, financials stuff.” her mom said. “But you said and I quote ‘Luce has a right to know’ and you said” pointing an accused finger at her father “’yes but not now it’s to soon.” She air quoted last nights discussion about her. Her parents took their time on answering the question their daughter asked. “I told you she’d find out sooner or later” Emily said to Luke. “Yes, our smart little girl does figure out stuff easily I…I was hoping it would be later than sooner” Luke said taking a deep breath. “Here it goes; the hospital called and said that…that you were switch at birth.” Luce was so shocked she ran out of the house, she ran to the one place she knew her parents wouldn’t look for her. She ran to the junior high school. She had to get away, to think for awhile she took her cell phone just to call her one best friend she knew that would come and that was the closest to the school. She dialed her friend’s number it ringed twice “Hello” the voice on the other line said. “Hey can I speak to Kris please.” Luce said. “This is her, may I ask who this is.” Kris said. “It’s Luce, can you come to the middle school and Kris” Luce said shakily. “What” Kris was concerned now. “If my parents call you don’t tell them where I’m at, please.” Luce was more concerned about that than anything else at that moment she didn’t want her parents to come and get her. Ten minutes went by; of course it would take awhile for Kris to get there. “Hey Luce what’s the matter?” Kris said from behind Luce. That made Luce jump as she said “Hey you won’t believe what just happened.” Kris was even more concerned than ever now “What happened this time.” It wasn’t the first time Luce had called her to come for an emergency to talk. “I just found out that I was switch at birth, I mean how do they switch a baby at birth isn’t their some kind of thing they do to-“. She stopped before she got carried away. “Wait you mean to tell me you ran away from home because you found out you were what, switched at birth, what where no wait what are you thinking.” Kris said very angry at the call to come to school in the summer!
Chapter 2
Artemis or now as she is now called Alexandra Parker had an ok life, making it from day to day in a smaller house. She didn’t care about what people said about her in her skater shoes, jeans and big t-shirt with her guitar and sandy blond hair with purple eyes. Yet she has a great mom and friends. As she thought she wouldn’t trade her life for anything in the world. “Hey mom what’s the matter?” said Alex to her mom. Alex’s mom was coughing so hard she could hear her from her bedroom. “Nothing I’m fine” Miranda said still coughing. Alex came into the living room to see her mom watching TV. “Mom you should hear your coughing it’s terrible.” Alex said sitting down on the couch. “It’s not that bad” Miranda said. “Mom it is that bad you should get it checked” Alex argued with her mom. “Ok just leave it alone please” Miranda angrily said. “Are we still going to Kansas tomorrow?” Alex said changing the subject. “Yes, yes we are still going to Kansas City.” Miranda said excepting the question. That night her mom was in the kitchen looking at a piece of paper, crying softly so Alex couldn’t hear but she did. “Mom are you ok.” Alex said softly not to startle her mom. “What, oh yeah I’m ok.” Her mom said holding back tears. Later that night Alex was sound asleep when she awoke to someone whispering in her ear or so she thought. She thought it was saying she needs you Artemis, she needs you. Alex thought that the she needs you meant Miranda needed her, but the Artemis part where had that come from. The next morning they packed their things and headed to Kansas. In the car on the way it was quite so Alex broke the silence “so mom did you whisper to me last night?” Miranda was confused “what, no I didn’t.” ok Alex was officially freaked out, who could have done that if it was a someone. It took almost a day to get their but they got their. Instead of Kansas City they where in Stanley, but they didn’t care. They stayed at a hotel and unpacked there stuff. “So what do you want to do tomorrow we could go to the mall or the Union Station” Miranda said. “I think the mall would be best” Alex said getting into bed. Luce was scared she didn’t know what to do go home face her parents or the people she just lived with for fifteen years or run away to find her real mom. She ended up going home to the people who clamed or thought they were her parents. It was night before Luce got home. “We where so worried.” Emily said as she hugged Luce as she came in “What where you thinking running out like that not telling us were you where going!” “Mom I had my cell did you even think on calling that.” Luce said. “No we did not we where to worried about you we even called the police.” Luke said from behind Emily. “It is late let’s all just go to bed” Emily said in a calmer voice than she felt. In the morning Luce apologized for running away. Later that day Kris called to see how things were going. “Good” Luce said. “Good, hey do you want to go to the mall if you’re feeling up to it” Kris said. “Yeah I do need to get away from my parents they are so bugging me they say let’s do something like they are on my case.” Luce was annoyed at her parents for being on her tail. As they walked into the mall Luce had a bad feeling something was about to happen. They were walking to a store when they bumped shoulders (Alex and Luce) Luce turned and said “Hey I think you owe someone an apologized” as Alex turned Luce felt her jaw drop. “No I think you…” Alex too felt her jaw drop. They stood dumfounded for a minute and then Luce did the unexpected… she fainted. Alex and her mom ran to her side and so did Kris who was looking at a window at the time. “You go get a cop and call 911 we’ll say behind” Miranda said to the girl who just moments ago didn’t know what happened. Kris ran to get the police. “Alex what do we do you took CPR classes” Miranda said to the still staring Alex. “What, Oh right I’ll do it” Alex said. As she checked Luce’s pulse she felt a shock come across her. She started rhyming
Wake this girl, who did no wrong,
Don’t let is be long,
she may revile to me,
Who she may be.
“Alex are you ok” her mom said scared at what just happened. “What I…I think” Alex said dizzily. They heard a moan from the girl they were trying to save. Kris came back with the police trying to get back up when “what AHHHHHHHHH” Luce freaked at the girl standing over her staring at her. Alex jumped back not knowing what happened herself. “Do you have a permit to perform CPR” the cop said. “Um yeah but we didn’t perform CPR we waited for you to come” said Miranda. “Ok everything seems to be ok here so I’ll just go” the cop said. “Who are you” Luce said to Alex. “Oh I’m sorry I’m Alexandra Parker and this is my mom” Alex said. “Hi I’m Kristen Anderson and this is Lucinda Evans.” Kris said. As Alex stood up she held out her hand to help up Luce and Luce took it. That same shock stopped Alex in her track. “Hey you shocked me” Alex said when Luce was on her feet. “I thought you shocked me?” Luce was even more freaked than she sounded where did she come from? “I’m from Florida” Alex answered the thought of Luce. “I didn’t say anything I just thought that.” Luce said. This girl is a serious weirdo. “Hey I’m not a weirdo” Alex said with a little anger in her voice. “What are you talking about” Luce was very troubled. “Listen I got to go my mom is probably waiting out side; here is my phone number and e-mail just in case you want to talk.” Luce didn’t know why she gave her number to a total stranger that looked like her but the next morning was better for both Alex and Luce. They got on the internet and e-mailed each other Alex wrote: Hey sorry about the mall thing I was really out of it. Luce wrote: Hey its ok we just meet what do you expect I fainted and screamed in your face I should be the one apologizing I’m sorry see we both messed up. Ok this might be a strange question to ask but were you adopted or switched at birth or something like that. Alex wrote: Ok we both messed up so now we are even and to answer your question is yes I was adopted why where you adopted? Luce Wrote: you know what let’s just meet at the mall again and this time I won’t faint so we can talk in person k. Alex wrote: k I’m game I have to talk to my mom but its possible. At the same mall they meet the first time. They walked though the crowed mall. “My mom is going to pick me up at 4:00 ok” Alex said walking passed a couple of people staring at her. “Ok that should give us just enough time to talk.” Luce said. “So are you from around here Lucinda.” Alex asked. “Yeah I’m from Stanley and by the way you can call me Luce.” Luce answered “So Alexandra why I e-mailed you here was so we can talk in person.” Alex already knew that “You can call me Alex and I already knew that I was wondering why did you ask if I was adopted or switched at birth?” that was a mystery Alex wanted to know. “It was because I was switched at birth.” Luce said. I don’t like to talk about it I mean I just found out a couple days ago. “It’s ok you don’t have to.” Alex read her thoughts. “Have to talk about what?” Luce was freaked. She is freaken me out again. “Sorry.” Alex was doing it again. “Ok you’re scaring me again.” Luce said. “Wait didn’t you just say…” Alex was confused. “No I only thought, wait maybe we have this twin telepathy thing going on expect for I can’t read your thought but you can read mine.” Luce wondered. “Not just yet it might take awhile for you.” Or maybe I’m just weirder than I thought. “You’re not that weird” Luce read Alex’s thoughts. “There you’re getting the hang of it already.” Alex was excited. “Ok now I’m freaken myself out.” Luce was now calmer than ever now. She felt herself becoming whole. There was no empty spot in her heart anymore. It was 4:30 and Alex’s mom wasn’t there so Luce called her mom. “Oh my gosh so this is the girl you told me about, you didn’t mention she looks almost like you.” Luce’s mom said slowly. “Almost mom she is my twin duh look at our faces and height…” Luce was cut off by Alex “let’s… just… go my mom probably forgot she dose that.” On the way to the hotel a car that looked like Alex’s mom’s car was on the side of the road “wait that’s my mom’s car” Alex called. They pulled over and Alex got out and ran to the car and found her mom sitting in the car passed out. “MOM can you hear me!” Alex called “Luce can you call for an ambulance my mom isn’t answering you just got to help me please.” Alex was crying when she said it “yeah I will.” Luce called from the car. It was a couple of hours later the doctor came out. “She has a couple minutes to live her heart is giving if…”the doctor said before Alex ran passed. “Moms please don’t go I need you. I love you” Alex cried. “Alex…it’s …ok it will be ok listen to the doctor…he might look scary…but he will take care of you” Miranda wheezed. “Hello” the doctor said it was a different doctor than before. “Hey” Alex was trying to kept it cool. “How old are you.” The doc said. Alex didn’t want to be adopted she wanted to be with Luce. “I’m eighteen.” Alex panicked. The doctor just smiled and didn’t look at her. Alex thought it was weird that the doctor smiled and he looks strangely familiar to her for some reason. So when he said “are you ok.” Alex responded, “No are you nuts my mom is dieing and all you’re doing is asking me if I’m ok.” Why are they not doing anything, Luce wondered. “Her heart is giving out to fast we can’t do anything.” The doctor said. “I didn’t say anything.” Luce said. “Yes but you where thinking it and Miss. Alexandra Parker wants to see you and just you please.” The doctor changed the subject. As Luce walked in the doctor said “Artemis, Apolla Lunasole needs you.” “What, what are you talking about who are you talking to we’re Luce and Alex not Art-e-mis and Ap-ple.” Luce said almost immediately. “You’re right it does sound like apple ha I didn’t think about that.” Aries disguised as a doctor said. Ok this guy is weirder than ever Luce thought“Hey I heard that what do you expect from your guardian’s guardian Apol-Luce.” Aries said. “What the heck are you talking about you are freaking me out.” Alex now said. “I suppose that would mean you have no idea what I’m talking about although I look familiar to you Arte- I mean Alex.” Aries said. “Who are those names you keep calling us.” Luce now jumped in with the convection. “Those are your real names and I am Aries your guardian’s guardian she had to do some stuff she really wanted to be here though.” Aries said. “And may I ask what is her name and what are you doing here.” Luce said walking to the door. I have to get my mom she needs to be here for this. “You most certainly may not.” Aries fought. “Why not, she is my mom!” Luce protested. “Yeah and while you two fight my mom is dieing.” Alex cried. “I’m sorry I can’t help you it’s her time to go.” Aries tried to explain. “NO you can explain! What is going on here?” Alex yelled. At that time her mom was gone there really wasn’t anything they could do. Alex sat there crying when Luce tried to reassure her but Alex just said “Just go I want to be alone.” So Luce waited outside. An hour went by finally in the silence of the hospital room Alex got up and left. “Are you ok do you have a place to stay?” Luce’s mom said. “No I don’t” Alex was worried about what would happen to her now. “Well you can stay with us then Luce has an extra bed and clothes if you want to stay here.” Emily said. “Are you sure I mean I just meet you and we don’t know anything about each other” Alex was even more confused. Why are they just letting me stay with them I don’t know anything about them. “It’s ok we will find every thing out about each other later.” Luce was getting the hang of it. “Ok let’s go.” Alex was to sad to be excited about Luce reading her mind.
Chapter 3
Luce’s house was bigger than Alex’s house but she didn’t care at all. “So where is your room?” Alex said calmly. “Up stares I’ll show you.” Luce said from behind her. They walked up the stairs to her room. Her room had a twin bed with a trundle bed under it. Her room was a tan color. It had posters of basketball players and softball players. “Wow you must really like sports.” Alex said looking around the room. “Hum it’s just a hobby no big.” Luce said. “No big it is to you can go to college and it’s good for you” Alex sounded like she was lecturing some kid. “You can set you stuff down right here.” Luce pointed to a big looking box called a chef rode with a TV on it and a DVD player too. Alex set her stuff down and took a deep breath and under that breath she said “Ok”. “Are you ok” Luce asked. “Why does everyone keep saying that of course I’m alright?” Alex was annoyed now. “Because of all you’ve been through the passed few days. It’s intense.” Luce told her. “Oh yeah what about you? You’ve gone through a lot too” Alex protested. “Ok I get it we’ve both been through a lot” Luce retorted. But you’ve been through a lot more than me. “Hey I heard that” Alex said. “Duh I meant for you to.” Luce said. They sat on the bed for awhile until they heard Luce’s mom say “girl’s dinner is ready.” When they came down they saw Luce’s dad, Luke, was standing at the counter with his back turned to them. “Hey dad I’d like you to meet my new… friend” Luce said with a mischievously smile on. As Luce’s dad turned around they saw a confused look on his face. “There are two of you.” Luke said. “Dad really we are probably two different people.” Luce said sitting down at the table. “So what’s for dinner dad?” Luce tried to change the subject. “Hey now don’t change the subject.” Luke said. “Now Luke I’ll talk to you later.” Emily said “We are having stake.” This dinner was quitter than usual. They made it through it perfectly fine. After dinner Alex and Luce went up stairs. “You know my parents aren’t always that quite” Luce said sitting on the bed. “Oh what do you mean by that.” Alex said offensively. “No I didn’t mean-“ Luce was cut off by Alex saying “I know what you meant, you meant that I don’t fit in here.” It ticked Alex off, but Luce was ticked off too. She was staring at Alex when her eyes started to sting then looked at the picture of Jenny Finch and all of a sudden it busted into flames. “Oh what the…what just happened there.” Alex jumped back. “I don’t know it just burst into flames.” Luce said. That night they both lied in their beds sound asleep until they woke up at the same time saying “do you say something.” They sat there laughing for about a minute or two minutes. All of a sudden they heard a higher voice than there’s, a women voice “No I did.” They turned and saw a women standing there. “What the…who the” Alex shuddered. “Now you listen to me.” The women said. “Who are you?” Luce managed to say. “What did I just say oh well I’m Serse your guardian, Aries told you I had something to do and I did.” Serses said. “Oh that will explain how you got in.” Alex said. “Ok so why I’m here is to tell you who you are and what you are.” said Serse. “I get it we are freaks or mostly me any way.” Alex retorted. “No we aren’t we are all the same we are human beings that are more tapped in with our powers than anyone else on this main land.” Serse replied. “We are witches as they call us and you have our powers, but they are stronger than anyone else’s powers Alex, you have the gift of hearing and reading minds. Luce, you have the gift of site like visions and promotions and the power to set things on fire, stuff like that.” They sat there for awhile thinking not knowing what to say. Alex thought what are we supposed to say. Luce thought I don’t know say something. “You don’t have to say anything.” Serse said. “Just say you will help us.” They looked at each other for a moment. “How did you know we were thinking?” Luce said confusingly. “We all have that power and with some work you will be able to read more than your sister’s mind.” Serse said. “And as for you, Alex you will to, well got to go people to see and places to be see ya later and we will oh and try please to stay out of trouble please.” They sat there for a minute staring at the place was there guardian had been till Alex managed to say “Okay how come she just appeared and disappeared like that.” Luce said “duh she is a witch and so are we weren’t you listening.” Alex said “sorry I have a short attention span.” Luce laughed and said “I noticed.” Alex lay down and pretended to be asleep. “Ok I’m sorry I didn’t mean it.” Luce said. Alex shot back up and said “Thanks now let’s go to bed.” It didn’t take them long to go to sleep. The next morning Luce was the first one to get up so she woke up Alex by saying “Alex get up” Alex said sleepily “Why should I?” Luce had to think for awhile then she said “because there’s a fire” Alex shot up and jumped out of bed wide awake. Luce started laughing “J.K” Alex said “That is not funny I thought you had set something on fire or something like that.” Luce stopped laughing “Hey why would I set something on fire?” Alex looked at her confused “don’t you remember lasted night.” Luce looked around confused. That was real. “You bet it was unless the part where you where talking to me was just sleep talk and the part were that girl what’s her name oh Serse said we were oh let’s see. Witches! Was all a dream. I don’t think so.” Alex said. “Ok I get it I just forgot sorry. Do you want to get breakfast?” Luce said. “Sure what do you have?” Alex replied. They ran down stairs Luce got out two bowls and spoons. She also got out the milk and cereal. “So what is it like in Florida” Luce asked pouring the milk into the bowl of cereal. “It’s okay, sunny most of the time. Do you know the one thing I wanted to feel is?” Alex said taking the bowl from Luce. “And what is that one thing you want to feel” Luce said scooping up some cereal. “Snow we never get snow in Florida.” Alex said as she put a spoon full in her mouth. “Hey do you want to see a place were I go to do whatever I want like think and stuff.” Luce said. “Sure what else is there to do?” Alex said. They finished their breakfast and Luce wrote a note to her parents telling them they were going for a bike ride. “So where exactly are we going.” Alex wondered. “To a little park-like area where I go mostly to think.” Luce replied. The rest of the way was quite they rode to a trial. Luce was first to turn on to the trail, half way down she stopped “Follow me” was all she said. They went off the trail and walked through some trees. They came up to a little patch of grass and in the middle of the patch there was a tree, just a regular old tree, but it seems to call to Alex. “So what’s so special about this place?” Alex said not know why she said it. “What so special about it is that no one knows it’s here, it’s my own little place to think, just to listen to things around me and to do whatever I want.” Luce retorted. “You’re right I really don’t know why I said that.” Alex explained. Tears weld up in her eyes she has tried to hold them up for so long she finally let go knowing it was ok that she had a loved one to have a shoulder to cry on. “You must think I’m so emotional” Alex said holding back tears. “No you’ve been through so much you have a right to cry.” Luce said feeling tears well up in her eyes. There they sat crying for a while. After they where finished they wiped their eyes. “Now what do we do.” Luce said still wiping her eyes. “There is only one thing we can do,” she paused for effect, “practice that’s all we should work on if we are going to help.” Luce got out a piece of paper and a pencil and said “what do we write” Alex thought for a minute then an idea came to her “We could start with this.” She took out of her pocket a little booklet and handed it to Luce. “What’s this,” Luce said confusingly. “Just some rhymes that I made up its nothing you know I made one up on the spot when you fainted” Alex said. “Oh really” Luce said flipping open the booklet and looking at it. “So do you always carry this in your pocket all the time?” Luce said with a cocky smile on. “No I just … well…yeah call me crazy but I get inspired by the weirdest things.” Alex struggled to say. Luce started to laugh, it didn’t take long for Alex to say “Stop it; I can’t help it I love to write they just come to me at the weirdest times.” The wind started to pick up they looked all around nothing was there. Luce stood up and so did Alex suddenly something ruffled in the bushes out popped a rabbit the girls awed. Alex said “A bunny that’s what we were so scared of.” The voice from the rabbit was familiar “I’m not just a bunny.” The most amazing thing happened as they watched the bunny turned into their loving guardian. “Serse we thought you weren’t going to come except for an emergency.” Alex said. “We, excuse me who said that I said that.” Luce said. “Chill you were thinking that.” Alex said. Luce shrugged knowing that was true. “Look I forgot to mention one small little detail.” Serse said. “It’s about our real mom isn’t it?” Luce said. Serse had a strange look on her face “how did you know, did you read my mind?” Luce grinned and said “no but we were thinking the same thing.” Alex looked at Luce and rolled her eyes. “Now who’s reading their sister’s mind.” Serse watched as they argued with each other. She finally but in “Girls stop fighting this is about your mother don’t you want to know.” Alex looked from side to side and said confusingly “Well yeah but I don’t know.” Should I really what should I do. Luce intercepted her thought you should ask me, hello you don’t have to go through this alone I’m here now. “Sorry to interrupt this little love fest here but do you or don’t you want to know.” Serse said reading both their minds. “Hey now look we want to know ok is that what you wanted to hear.” Luce said. You could hear the irritation in her voice. “Ok we’ll listen I want to know.” Alex joined in the conversation as she looked at Luce. “Here it goes your mother is ok…we think we aren’t truly sure we really don’t know the last time we saw her was a month ago she said she’d call for us, but she hasn’t.” Serse said. “So you’re saying that you haven’t seen her in a month and you’re telling us this, why?” Alex said and Luce lost it “how can we help someone who didn’t want us!?” “Don’t ever say that she loved you very, very much it was for your own safety Lord Aron was going to kill you when he got the chance!” Serse said and then covered her mouth signaling that she wasn’t supposed to say that. Alex and Luce stood staring with mouths open. “I mean…I mean,” she sighed “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to worry you its ok we haven’t seen him for years.” Alex finally found her voice “Ok so what do you want us to do practice our magic or stay low so he doesn’t track us.” Serse said “Practice as much as you can you need to find you mother.” They stood there for awhile looking at each other till Luce said “We better get home my parents are going to get worried they worry to much they always think I’m going to run away or something like that.” I can’t believe I just said that. Alex looked at her “you mean you’ve never told that to anyone.” Luce forgot they had no more secrets and that they could read each other’s minds. “Actually no I haven’t.” Luce said. The rest of the way home was quite. When they got home they saw Emily and Luke sitting in the kitchen eating lunch, they got back really late. Emily said “how was the bike ride girl?” They looked at each other and said “It was a bike ride we got to talk a lot that’s it.” Emily looked at Luke and said “oh what kind of stuff.” Alex thought to Luce should I read her mind or just let it go. Luce thought back no she is just wondering there is no harm in that. Alex said “just girl stuff you know.” Let’s go to your room. Luce shook her head and they ran up stairs. When they got into their room Alex jumped and sat on her bed. Luce closed the door and said “We should practice but where are we going to do that we could go for a walk to our spot.” Alex looked at her and said “Our spot but it’s your spot not mine.” Luce rolled her eyes “well now it’s our spot ‘cause we are sisters.” Alex thought to herself to try and think of a place to practice and it hit her literally hit her a book. A small little thing the size of their hand. “Ouch that hurt what is that.” Alex said rubbing her head. Luce picked it up and read the title “The small book of spells. Hey there is a note attached to it,” she opened it up and read: Girls,
Thought this would help you practice some real spells.
Serse.
“Well this should help a lot but it didn’t have to hit me in the head that really did hurt.” Alex said still rubbing her head were the book hit her. Luce just stood there shaking her head. They decided to read it later and go to bed. Alex was soon awakened by a loud boom. Alex was the only one affected by this sound she tried to wake up Luce but she wouldn’t wake up then something grabbed her and put a cloth up to her mouth and nose and she passed out. Next thing she knew she was bound and had a cloth tied around her mouth so she couldn’t talk. She tried thinking to Luce, Luce if you can hear me don’t come and find me. Two figures came into view of Alex. They looked at her and the person on the right said “You idiot you got the wrong twin” And all Alex could say was “ou re ou.” The person on the right bent down and said in a deep voice “I am Lord Aron and this is Merlin.”
Chapter 4
Meanwhile Luce was still asleep when she sat up quickly when she heard Luce if you can hear me don’t come and find me. She got up and got the book of spells and looked for the summoning spell and recited it as soon as she was done Serse was there in front of her. “So what is the big emergency that you had to wake me up when I was sleeping… wait where is Alex.” Luce said “That is why I called you here she is missing I can’t find her she telepath me a half hour ago” Serse walked around the room looking at all the stuff and said “well what did she say to you.” “She said Luce if you can hear me don’t come and find me, I think that she doesn’t want me to get hurt well she is just protecting me.” Serse sighed angrily “I knew this would happen I should have known he was behind this.” She said with a glare on her face. “Who is behind this… you don’t mean Lord Aron is… but you said you haven’t seen him for years.” Luce was alarmed. “Yeah well we haven’t, I guess we didn’t check into it, well I can find him if you like or we can find Luce which will it be.” Luce raised an eyebrow “I thought that we could find both I mean where we find Alex will lead us to Lord Aron who should be there, right” Serse shook her head. Serse took a crystal from her pocket and a map from her back pocket and searched for her. Next thing they knew the crystal landed on an old factory “Well now all we need to do is get down there.” Luce said. Serse took out a pouch and tossed something on the ground in a circle and said “come here this should take us straight to her” The next thing she knew she was out side the factory. Luce whispered “what do we do now” Serse said “call the police and get in there so we can save your sister.” Luce took out her cell phone and dialed 911, after she got off the phone they went in. They saw Alex bound and gagged and Aron standing over her with a gun pointing at her. Luce said “what should we do he’s going to kill her.” Serse thought for a moment and then said “knock the gun out of his hand, just think of it burning up and it will do it.” Luce closed her eye and thought of it burning up and opened them to see him looking at his hand that had the gun in it and he was in pain from the gun burning him. As he was running to look for some water to stop the pain Luce and Serse ran and got Alex. She was unconscious and looked as if she tried to untie herself but failed. Just as they got Alex conscious Aron had found the gun. Alex was untied and standing so Luce said “Alex, knock the gun out of his hand and make sure he won’t be able to find it. Ok? Leave the rest to me.” Alex looked at her like she was crazy. “What do you mean you’ll take care of the rest?” Luce said “Listen I know karate, I’m a third degree black belt sorry I didn’t tell you. I was going to tell you tomorrow, but well it seemed like a good time to tell you now sense we are in this mess.” Aron was coming toward them now so Alex thought of the gun flying to her feet and when she opened her eyes it was at her feet she picked it up and said “I’ll manage the gun, you go kick Lord Aron’s butt.” Luce ran toward him jumped and kicked him in the chest then she punched him in the mouth and then the stomach. He fell to his knees and Luce grabbed the back of his hair and said “Now tell me where our mother is or else.” Alex walked up to were they are standing and held the gun to Aron. “Now what are you going to do with that… kill me?” Aron said. “No but I can shoot your arm you know how much pain that would cause you.” Alex said still holding the gun up. Aron finally broke down and said “Ok, ok I’ll talk. I’ll tell you where she is but not what part if you don’t shoot.” Alex looked at Luce and Luce shook her head. “Ok she is on Lunasole but you’ll never find her or where ever she is.” Aron said. Serse came over and slapped Aron for lying to the girls and said “You’re lying the island has been searched for years and there hasn’t been any sign of her…unless she is in the same place we thought to never look at for years.” Aron smiled. Luce finally said “Great now all we need to do is get my parents to fly us to Lunasole and back but how? Would they really let us…umm no, don’t think so.” By then they heard the police sirens pull up. A door flew open and they all heard a cop say “Put the gun down slowly and turn around.” Alex rolled her eyes and said “You don’t understand this is the man who kidnapped my sister and we are trying to not let him go.” The cop went passed Luce and Alex and handcuffed Aron. Serse said “Excuse me officer do I know you? You look very familiar.” The cop looked at Serse and winked by then she knew it was Aries, but the girls still were clueless. Serse said “Come on girls lets get you home you must be beat I know I am.” Before they knew it they were standing in their room looking at Serse When Alex said “how do we get our mom back, I mean we can’t just pack up and leave.” Although I did. Luce heard that and said “You miss them don’t you?” Alex looked at her weird and knew she was right. “Wait, that’s it we can go to your parents and tell them that I need some stuff from my old house like cloths and need to tell everyone what’s going on and can’t do it alone or over the phone so if we can do that we’ll have Serse come meet us there and pick us up.” Alex said. Luce looked at her said “that’s so crazy it just might work, I love the way you think.” They went to bed and the next morning they didn’t wake up till 12o’clock and talked to Luce’s parents and they actually agreed with them. Luce called Kris on her cell “Hey Luce what’s up I thought you might have died sense I haven’t heard from you for so long.” Luce said “Whatever hey I called to tell you that I’m going to Florida for a week with Alex so she can get some stuff and say goodbye to her friends.” There was silence on the other end until Kris spoke “Well ok is that all you wanted to tell me.” Luce knew she felt sad “No and I wanted to tell you I have a twin…Uh Surprise.” Kris said “Well that’s pretty big news have you told anyone else yet.” Luce rolled her eyes “well no one else except my parents duh well don’t tell anyone.” Alex walked in and said jokingly “Oh so you want to keep me a secret.” Luce stuck her tough out at her and as did Alex. When Luce got off the phone her parents had their tickets ready for them to pick up at the airport. When they got there Luce’s parents saw them off by waving. On the plane Alex and Luce where still so tired from their little adventure the night before so they tried to stay awake as long as they could but it didn’t help much they ended up falling asleep 30 minutes into the air. Luce as usual was the first one to wake up so she let Alex sleep for a little while longer and listen to her CD player she brought with her. Alex finally woke up an hour later and stretched her arms. “Finally my god you were sleeping like a rock” Luce said as Alex looked at her. “Well what do you expect we were up late and I mean really late last night.” You know what I mean. Alex said and then thought. Luce cockily said “no I don’t” Alex thought I just don’t want anyone else on this plain to know what we are even though we are finding our mom. Luce shook her head and said sarcastically “you’re right what would they think even though we aren’t going to see them ever again. Word catches on fast in this nation.” Alex rolled her eyes. Luce and Alex listened to music the rest of the way to Florida. They got off the plane and Serse was waiting for them in the landing bay. Alex said right away “Hey Serse what’s up I have a favor to ask you before we go to Lunasole.” Luce said to Alex “You do?” Serse said “ok what is it?” Alex said “can we go by my house and pick up something before we go?” Serse shrugged her shoulders and said “Ok but be quick.” They made it to her house were they saw someone sitting there waiting for them or…Alex. Alex jumped up and said “That’s Michael he’s been my friend since who knows when!” Luce and Serse looked at her and rolled their eyes. Luce said “So you like him?” Alex said shakily “what are you kidding…he’s like a brother to me” Luce had a cocky smile on and shook her head. Alex ran up to Michael saying “hey Mike how’s it going.” Mike looked at her and gave her a big hug and said “Not much I thought…” He trailed off with his big blue eyes when he saw Luce and Serse walk up. “Oh I almost forgot this is my sister Luce and this is...”Alex paused. Serse broke in and save Alex from saying something stupid “I’m Serse a friend of Luce’s Family. We didn’t want them traveling alone.” Alex thought to Serse in relief Thank you very much. “Wait where is Miranda.” Mike said. The next look on Alex’s face said everything. Mike frowned and said “Oh no while you where in Kansas I’m so sorry.” Mike held out this arms and Alex took it. While Luce and Serse smiled at Alex and Mike. Luce thought oh very nice and I thought you said you two where like brother and sister. Alex thought ok maybe I like him a little bite more than friends. After Mike had left, they when inside the house. Serse said “well I think we handled that pretty well. Don’t you think?” Luce began to laugh until see saw Alex look around with tears in her eyes. “She use to love watching TV in the morning before I woke up.” Alex cried. Luce came up to her to say it would be alright but being Alex, she already knew that. Alex went to the back to her room and put some things into a duffle bag and came back wiping her eyes with her sleeve and said “Ok now we need to find our mom, Serse can we get there form here.” Serse said “well yeah but won’t it look weird if we just don’t walk out and just disappear. What if you friend comes back.” They went to a place where they could go to Lunasole in secret. Alex and Luce closed their eyes hoping that no one would see them and have to explain what they were doing, but when they opened their eyes they saw a little cottage with a fence and a garden covered with moon light. Serse walk to the front door and knock three times and said “We are here Aries.” The door open to see a man standing there saying “welcome to Lunasole girls I hope the flight wasn’t too horrible.” Alex and Luce smiled and walked inside the little cottage. When they walked in they found themselves looking at a room filled with a fireplace, a couch and two chairs facing the couch, but what they didn’t expect was all the potions and books in the back of the room. “What no TV?” Alex said sarcastically. Aries and Serse look at her with a shake of there heads and a grin. Aries said “No we don’t get cable here but we get good internet access here provided by your uncle.” Serse looked at him irritated and took a beep breath “I didn’t tell them about that yet.” Aries said “great then I’ll have to say it. Look girls your uncle is…is Aron” Alex and Luce looked at each other and at the exact same time said “oh my god.” Then Alex said “great we have an uncle that’s a murderer and a kidnapper in our family.” Luce then said “Can anyone say dysfunctional family here.” Alex giggled a little then saw the looks on Serse and Aries faces she stopped slowly. Aries said “ok so we’ll look for your mother tomorrow because well as you can see its dark and we won’t get any were in this lighting.” Alex and Luce said “Ok.” The next morning they ate breakfast and headed out. “Well where do we look cause we don’t know where you’re going, Aries.” Alex said with a yawn. “I know you haven’t been here so you have to stick with us and don’t wander off.” Serse said. Alex rolled her eyes and then Luce hit her on the arm. Alex rubbed her arm and asked “Where exactly are we going?” Aries said “We’re going to yours and your mother’s house it’s just up a head now be quite there might be Aron’s guards around here.” They walked in silence for awhile when the came up to and old house with a door that covered it. Aries and Serse stopped at the steps, but Alex and Luce bumped into them. Luce whispered “Why have you stopped?” Serse looked at her and put her index finger to her lips signaling to be quite. She reached her hand through the door and was flown back by an electric shock. Alex and Luce went to help her up but saw she was unconscious, Alex pulled a note book from her pocket and flipped to a page and said “Luce help me with this say:
Wake this girl,
Who did no wrong,
Don’t let it be long,
So she may revile to us are mother from the past.
They said the rhyme and when the finish Serse awoke. The next thing they heard was a slow clapping sound from behind them. When they turn they saw that Aries was gone and Aron was standing there in his place. Alex, Luce and Serse stood Alex lunged at him but Serse and Luce held her back. “Let me go he’s the murderer and he kidnapped me, I deserver to hurt him!” Alex yelled. “Not like this all that should matter now is our mom Alex.” Luce said. Alex took a deep breath and relaxed. “Can we trust you not to hurt him if we let you go?” Serse said. Alex nodded her head and they let go of her she didn’t try to hurt him, but said “Where is Aries?” Aron smiled and pointed inside the house with his thumb. Alex looked at Luce and thought should we trust him or not. Luce thought I don’t know he is a…she trailed off in mid-thought Alex hit Luce “Ouch what was that for?” Luce asked. “Just checking.” Alex said. Luce said “Checking what I’m all right.” Alex shrugged her shoulders. Aron said “She was check if I had or hadn’t hypnotized you right, Alex.” Alex glared at him and thought to him just because I can’t hit you for what you did, doesn’t mean that I can’t hate you. Everyone heard what she had thought, but she didn’t care at this point. She asked once again “Where is Aries, don’t lie to me!” Serse and Luce shook their heads and agreed with Alex. “The truth is he went inside truly he did. He went in to look for your mother while you were trying to wake her up.” Aron said. Alex looked at Luce and Serse and then back to Aron. This time he had a smile on so Alex still didn’t trust him but went in the house any way because she really wanted to find her mom. After everyone was in, Aron closed and locked the door and only Alex heard it and she turned around to look at him. He smiled and said “You girls look so much like your mother, Carle, she’ll be so proud.” Alex said angrily “Don’t you dare talk about our mother, you have no right.” Aron was shocked and said “Oh but I can see I wasn’t the one who kidnapped her it was my brother, Aron.” The look on Serse face said everything she then said “Keith is it really you?” tears filled up in her eyes. Alex and Luce were so confused. They then heard foot steps but they weren’t alone there was another pair was with them and everyone turned toward the sound. What they saw next was a memorable moment a man and a women walking up to them. The woman said to Alex “Apolla is that you?” Alex looked at Luce and then back at the woman who ask the question and Luce said “No I,” she sighed “I am that’s Alex I mean Artemis.” The woman smiled and turned her head toward what they thought was Aron and said “Thank you Lord Aron.” Aron said at this time “I’m not Aron I’m Keith. I found out after a trip I had to go on that my daughters were bore while I was away and I rushed to see them and my beautiful wife, but when I got there they all were gone. I went to Aron to see were you were but he didn’t tell me all he wanted was to kill me and the twins…” Alex jumped in “Wait were is Aron then and why did you kidnap me.” Keith said “All in time Artemis I’ll tell you why in just a minute so were was I… oh yes so I got out barely and I went into hiding. Then when I heard he was missing I came out and acted like him to get to you all. I only wanted to get my family back…” Luce said now “but did you really have to kidnap Alex I mean Artemis.” Keith said “Girls just listen. So I pretend to be him and I found out where you two were and that Artemis was going to Kansas so I planed for you to meet. All though I didn’t plan on Apolla to faint but any way I had to kidnap you so you would try to find your mother and now here we are.” Serse finally said “So why didn’t you just go get them yourself instead of all that.” Keith said “Because if the real Aron was still around then he would clam me as a fraud and then his guards would kill me and we would never be together.” Alex was still confused about something and said “Well now where do we live I mean we can’t live in two places at once.” Luce said “Yeah I can’t just leave my other parents I mean they raised me as their own even though they didn’t know that I wasn’t theirs they still raised me.” Alex said angrily now “Wait, wait, wait you mean to tell me that my other mom had to die so you could get us back. I can’t believe this.” Keith said “No that was an unfortunate event that had nothing to do with me.” Carle finally said “We have powers but we can’t kill any one there are rules of what we can and can’t do. We will teach you to everything you need to know.” Everyone nodded in agreement. Alex thought well they haven’t answered your question yet. Luce said “Alex, why bother thinking things cause they already know what we are thinking?” Alex said with a smile “because it’s fun.” Luce rolled her eyes and put her right hand over her face and shook her head. Aries said “Well we haven’t answered her question because it’s a difficult question to answer…” Serse jumped in “You have to answer that one for yourself we can’t make you do anything.” Luce’s head started to pound and she put her hand on her temple. Alex looked at her and said “Luce, are you alright?” Luce was wobbling a little and Alex rushed to her and put and arm around her and Luce closed her eyes and saw a dark wooded area and a girl was running next she saw a castle with a gate and the girl ran into the castle. Then she opened her eyes she was now lying on the floor and breathing heavily. Alex said “What happened to you?” Carle said “She had a premonition. What did you see?” Luce said “Well I saw a dark wooded place and a girl I couldn’t really see her face but she was running I don’t know why but she came to a castle and went in that’s all I saw.” Carle said “How do you feel?” Luce looked at her and said “My head hurts and I’m still a little dizzy. Wait how did you know I wasn’t feeling well.” Carle said “Because I get premonitions too and I get headaches and feel dizzy I was seeing if you got the same symptoms that I get.” Alex looked from Luce to Carle and stood to help Luce up. When Luce was up she said “That was my first premonition but we have to figure out who was that girl she could be in trouble.” While Luce was talking Alex quietly slipped out of the house and ran down a path starting to cry.
Chapter 5
Back at the house Luce said “Alex can you help me find her? Alex,” she said a little bite louder “Alex?!” There was no answer as Luce looked around the room she realized that the girl in her vision was Alex and said “Carle, Keith, mom…dad um do you know if there’s a castle not far from here?” Carle thought for a minute and said “The Valcony Palace it’s not far from here, Keith do you still have a key?” Luce said “Why would he have a key?” Keith said “Because that’s where my side of the family used lives. I’m the only who lives there now well accept for the house keepers and guards…oh no they won’t recognize her, we have to get there quick.” They hurried out of the house to the Palace. Meanwhile Alex was still running, she tripped and fell and when she got up she saw someone starring at her. She said still crying “What are you looking at there is nothing to see.” The person said with a kind but beep voice “Why are you crying?” Alex said “You wouldn’t understand I’ve got to go.” She stood up and took a step and the boy said “I’m Jake by the way are you new here.” Alex took a deep breath and closed her eyes turned around and said “Well you could say that. I was born here but I never actually lived here.” Jake said “oh and your name is?” Alex said “Alex well Artemis I’m not sure which one at the moment.” Jake said “Ya…your Artemis Valcony” Alex raised an eyebrow and said “I guess I really don’t know my last name.” Jake said “This might help you. Are you the daughter of Keith and Carle and do you have a sister named Apolla?” Alex said sourly “yeah that’s me but what so special about me.” Jake said “Maybe you should hear it from your parents I’m not the person to tell you.” Alex said “Well ok but can you tell me where an uh Palace, castle whatever is?” Jake said “Yeah the Valcony Palace that’s were your father used to live.” Alex was confused and said “What, used to live?” Jake said “you don’t know? He disappeared.” Alex said “Oh yeah sorry I forgot… so where is it.” Jake pointed with his thumb behind him and said “it’s straight that away the road ends at the palace.” Alex said “thanks a lot.” She started to run to the road. Everyone was already there waiting for her inside. They saw her run through the gate and into the palace where a guard told her to go in the library so she went when the doors opened everyone looked at her as she said “oh no I just want to be alone right now can’t you see that.” Aries said “Well then next time tell us where you are going we would have let you go.” Alex said “I thought Luce’s vision said everything you needed to know.” She turned to leave and the doors shut; she turned and said “Come on open the doors.” Keith said “Not until we talk I my not have raised you but I am still your father.” Alex closed her eyes and thought of the door opening but when she opened them they were still closed. “Look you may have powers but so do I and I can keep those doors closed for as long as I want so come here and sit down.” Alex said “Thanks but no thanks I’ll stand.” She closed her eyes again and tried her hardest to think of the doors opening and she opened her eyes they where still closed, then she just thought about it and they flew open she went to turn around and ran out there was no stopping her. Keith said “She’s just like my mother, stubborn as her too,” and he shook his head “well should we go after her.” Carle said “No she needs to figure this out on her own she’ll come back sooner than you think.” Alex ran out the door and back to the spot she met Jake, hoping to see him still there. He wasn’t there she sat down and put her face in her hands and started to cry she said to herself “Mom if you can hear me please answer I need your help.” She heard in a soft voice “I am here Alex.” She lifted her head and saw a glow that formed into her mom, Miranda that is. She said “mom is it really you?” the Voice said “Yes it is, what’s the matter?” Alex said “I can’t do this I can’t be this… this witch stuff I just can’t.” Miranda said “It’s not weather you want to or not it’s your birth right to be what you are.” Alex said “but why did you have to go so quickly.” Miranda said “Because I had heart cancer and they didn’t have a heart to give me so don’t be mad it was meant to be I loved you when I was alive and I still love you now that I’m gone.” Alex started to cry again but Miranda said “don’t cry honey it will be ok were ever you go I’ll be with you.” Alex said still crying “I know I’m just to confused I don’t know where to go stay here or go with Luce. I want to still be with Luce but this is where I think I’m supposed to be.” Miranda said “Go where ever your heart tells you to go. I must leave now I love you and I’m always with you.” Then she disappeared and Alex sat there for a minute and got up and left to go back. When she got to the door of the palace they opened and she saw Carle standing there. Carle said “Are you alright my dear?” Alex smiles and said “I think I am now.” and gave Carle a hug. Carle smiled and said “That is good. Your mother talked to you didn’t she.” Alex nodded and said “she told me everything I needed to know.” Carle said as caring as a mother could ever talk “Well that is very good. I’m am very glad.” she paused “The others are in the library waiting for you come I’ll help you find it. It’s a big place you could get lost I know I have.” Alex smiled and laughed. They got to the library and everyone smiled and Luce came to her and said “Are you ok? You really scared me there for a second.” Alex said “I’m ok. My mom came to me told me what I needed to know.” Luce said “well do you want to talk about it, if not I understand.” Alex said “No I think this is something I want to keep to myself.” Luce nodded in understanding. Alex went to the chair next to Keith and said “Ok now I’m ready to talk to you what did you want to say.” Keith said “Well I was going to say I’m sorry for your lose and if there is anything I can do to help then you can ask.” Alex said “It’s ok now I will not run from anything else; oh I meant to ask you a guy named Jake I bumped into acted really weird toward me like I was some sort of princess or something what was that about.” Keith look from Alex to Carle and then back to her and said “I will tell you when you’ve had some rest tomorrow now I’ll show you to your rooms for tonight.” He stood and led them to stairs and then walked up them then down a hall with pictures of people and came to two doors and said “this is where you two sleep you can pick which one you want.” Alex picked the west side and Luce picked the east side Keith still smiling shook his head turned and walked away.
Chapter 6
In the morning Luce was woken up by Carle saying “Honey wake up it morning.” and Alex was woken up by Keith saying “Wake up Artemis its time to get up” followed by a grown from Alex. Luce and Carle walked in and Luce said in a whisper to Keith “Here is I always get her up.” and she yelled “Alex, Alex Wake up there’s a fire!” Alex jumped straight up and Carle and Keith started to laugh. Alex said in a sleepy voice “that’s not funny Luce next time you say that I’m not going to believe you…unless I smell smoke.” “Oh girls stop fighting it was just a little joke Alex lighten up.” Serse said form the door. Alex got up and went over to Luce and said “YOU are the best sister a sister could have oh and friend.” and then she smiled. Luce had a smile from ear to ear and said “At first I thought you were mad since you yelled the word you nice one…sis.” and Luce gave Alex a big hug. They all went into the kitchen and sat at the counter and Aries joined them. Keith asked everyone “What would you like for breakfast?” Alex and Luce said “Two eggs with cheese.” and everyone looked at them smiled and laughing and so did they. Aries said “Girls you are too good at this twin stuff.” Alex and Luce rolled their eye and smiled. Alex said “well duh that’s because,” Luce finish her sentence “we are twins duh.” Keith said “Ok you’ve got it girls anyone else want eggs.” Aries, Serse and Carle nodded. He fixed eggs for everyone including himself. While everyone one was eating Luce said “so why was that Jake kid acting weird around Alex?” Keith said “Umm girls the reason he acted like that was…um because you are very important people.” Alex said “are we like famous or something?” Carle said “You could say that. Have you ever thought since you’ve been together you are more energized, pulse races sometimes?” Luce and Alex nodded. Serse jumped in “You guys really think this is a good idea to tell them now how about we tell them when they are ready and prepared?” Carle said “I think they are ready now and they have gone through so much to come this far.” Keith said “All right I’m going to tell them right now. Girls the reason for all this is because you are the ones who are going learn our way and help us unite the two kinds of witches the east and the west as foretold in the prophecy.” Luce said “prophecy why has there always got to be a prophecy with this kind of stuff.” Keith asked “What do you mean?” Luce said “I mean there is always a prophecy with these things. Ok here’s how I see it one or two people who have been adopted or switched at birth in my case, find their real parents, find out there is something about them that’s unique and then they tell you about a destiny, if you will, and say you have to fulfill this destiny and then we either end up six feet under, are scared for life in anyway emotional or physical or the best one yet you are a hero and live a great life.” Carle tilted her head a little and said “it’s kind of like that but you will be heroes no one will kill you trust me, although there might be some people who will want to change this prophecy and keep it the way it is now but they won’t try to kill you.” Alex lowered her eyebrows and said “how else are we going to change it?!” Keith thought for awhile but came up with nothing and as did Carle and Serse so finally Aries said “They could either take your powers or they could split you two up but don’t give them the chance and you’ll be fine.” Alex said “ok that’ll work.” Luce said angry “ok that’ll work, Alex, come on we don’t even know any of these people. I’m sorry but I’d rather know who I was saving than save people we don’t even know.” Alex’s mouth was wide open then she said “Luce, I am surprised in you do you think cops pick who they save? Do you think fire fighters save people they pick? Disasters happen to people you love and this is where we were born I think we need to help them.” Luce said “Ok… ok I get your point so I’ll help what we need to do?” Aries said “you need to learn the art and practice for now.” Alex just realized something and said “Luce, we have a week to unite them and we have already wasted three days.” Luce went bug-eyed and her mouth was wide open and she said “that’s right I so worried about finding mom and the drama of finding dad too I forgot.” Alex said “that reminds me of another thing dad I’m sorry I tried to hit you back at the house.” Keith said “its ok I was pretending to be Aron, use that anger if you ever see him.” Alex said “but how will I know it’s him?” Keith said “Always look at our eyes we might be twins but he has eyes are as black as his soul.” Alex said “ok and yours are blue kind of like the sky.” he nodded his head and smiled. Luce and Alex went into the library and looked at all the books, Luce picked up a book that had the title The Book of Transformation and opened it and read to her self:
This book is used to transform anyone into anything they desire for the purpose of good and evil. BEWARE: the only way to know if anyone has transformed is to look at their eyes it holds their inner self (even if you don’t know them).
Luce flipped through the pages and saw one for humans and called to Alex who was looking at books at the other end “Alex, come here you need to see this it’s cool.” Alex came running over to her and said “you should see this to I found stuff like potions and other spells and guess who wrote them” she paused “mom and dad not to mention Aries.” Luce said “No way that’s so cool look at this it’s to transform into any human you want.” Alex saw where she was going and said “you don’t think Aron turned into another person do you,” Luce nodded and there no smile on her face anymore “That’s what I was afraid of. Maybe we should investigate we could go into town and try and find Jake to show us around.” Luce said “or we could just ask mom and dad I mean Carle and Keith.” Alex said “come on they are our mom and dad and I think we should try Jake he might know the town better.” Luce said “you just want to see him again;” Alex smiled “I’d really feel better if Keith, Carle, Aries or Serse took us.” Alex said “ok let’s ask dad.” They ran to Keith and asked him and he said “ok I’ll give you the full tour of the town.” they smiled. They were walking behind him and Alex realized she didn’t know how to tell if any one was a different person so she asked Luce “How do we…” Luce said “Don’t worry I will know just look at the persons eyes and that will tell you.” Alex said “oh yea and if you look at dad’s eyes they are blue but if they are black then that means it’s not him it is Aron remember that.” They walked into the town its was bigger than they imagined there were shops for organic spices, a coffee shop, food store, and every other thing you could imagine. Everywhere they went people stared at them. Alex asked “is this the only market place or is there one for the west and the east.” Keith said “Yes this is the main market though a lot of people come here the other ones are farther from their houses and most people do get along it’s just the people that don’t get along go to the other markets.” Alex thought to her self I wonder if Jake will be there he was so nice. Luce rolled her eyes and she shook her head. From a distances Alex heard someone call her name, she turned and saw Jake running toward her. She waved and Luce grabbed her shoulder and said “Be careful you know what dad said if you give them a chance they will hurt you don’t give them that chance look…at…their…eyes.” Alex said “Ok I get it see behind the mask.” she ran to Jake and Luce followed her (just in case). Jake said “I hoped to see you here, how’s it going.” Alex said “Same here I’m ok a little thing I needed to take care of but I’m good and you,” Luce cleared her throat to call attention to her Alex continued “Oh sorry Luce, Jake this is my sister Luce well I guess you know her as Apolla.” Luce for some reason didn’t trust this Jake guy but she said “Hi nice to meet you.” And under her breath she said softly so no one could hear her not and did a fake coughed. Jake said “Oh it’s such a pleaser to meet you I’ve heard good thing about you.” Luce said meanly “I’m sure you have.” she did what the book said to do she looked into his eyes and stared hard and felt herself getting dizzy so she looked away and covered her eyes with her hand and shook her head until she could see again Alex noticed and said “Luce are you ok?” Luce looked up squinted and said “yeah I’m fine I just can’t see very well and I’m dizzy.” Alex said “well here sit down for awhile.” Keith saw Luce and Alex sit down and ran over he said “Luce are you having a vision?” Luce shook her head and Alex said “her vision is blurred and she’s dizzy.” Luce tried looking at Jake but she could barely see him. It took a minute for her to see again but luckily see could. Alex said to Jake “we better get back sorry to rush away so fast.” Jake said “Wait can I see you again maybe grab a bite to eat at say around four.” Alex said “Are you asking me out on a date or something?” Jake said “No just to get to know you as a person not a witch.” Alex said “I have to ask my dad just a second.” she ran over to Keith who was helping Luce to walk while she was talking to Jake and asked “Can I come back up around four?” Keith said “ok as long as someone takes you up here.” She said “Jake could come and pick me up.” she ran back to Jake and said “Can you pick me up my dad doesn’t want me going alone it’s just that I don’t know this place very well.” Jake said “Sure it’s fine I’ll pick you up at four.” Alex said “Great I’ll be ready, well see you later.” and she walked off. On the way home Alex helped Luce home with Keith on the other side of Luce. Alex was curious and said “What made you well like this dizzy and vision blurry?” Luce said sourly “I don’t know why don’t you ask your boyfriend.” Alex said defensibly “hey he is not my boyfriend and he couldn’t have possibly done this.” Luce said “how would you know you’ve only known him for what a day.” Keith interrupted “Girls remember what I said if you give them the chance come on now stop fighting.” Alex said “you’re right sorry Luce I didn’t think it through,” she put her hand to her head “darn it I have to see him again at four now what am I supposed to do.” Keith was still clueless and they were at the gate at this point so Serse and Carle came to help Luce inside. Carle said “What happened to her?” Alex said “Um…well we were trying to find out if someone was imposing to be someone else and well we think we found someone and she’s still a little dizzy and her vision was blurry.” Serse said “Wait what were you doing you shouldn’t try to do magic if you haven’t practice it.” Alex said “well not to point out the obvious but we haven’t practiced anything and well this is how we practice.” Serse said “ok I get it, you’re right but why didn’t you do the same thing.” Luce jumped in “Because she was to blinded by feelings more than determination.” Carle was concerned and said “Well who was this guy, was it Jake.” Alex said “Um no it was this other cute guy.” Carle said “don’t lie to me.” Alex cracked “ok fine it was him but what am I supposed to do now I have to see him at four he’s coming to pick me up,” she took a breath and closed her eyes “uh oh.” she opened her eyes. “Well I guess that means one thing…” Alex cut Carle off “I know it means I can’t see him.” Carle said “now I didn’t say that. I was going to say that we need to expose him and this is how, you go with him and I and Luce will follow… oh and you’ll need these me and Serse looked for them while you were gone,” she held out two necklaces one had a crescent moon facing the right and a half circle and the other had the same moon but facing the left and the half circle one the other side and the color silver so when placed together the half circles make a full circle “it represents waxing crescent, full moon, waning crescent or a triple Goddess as they are most commonly known as this will protect you from any harm just keep it tucked under your shirt so no one knows you have it, that will give us away.” Alex and Luce took the necklaces and put them on Luce said “I feel better now Alex we need to get you up stairs and get you something to wear.” Alex crossed her arms and said “Why, what’s wrong with what I’m wearing,” she was wearing a t-shirt that said ‘I’m tough deal with it’, jeans and tennis shoes “ok fine I get your point let’s go.” They ran up stairs as they pass Keith, he said “wow where’s the fire.” Alex stopped and said “got to get ready to go with Jake” and ran off. They made it to Alex’s bed room and Alex said “what am I going to wear I have nothing cute.” Luce said “well let’s just see what you do have.” Alex pulled out a shirt that had on it ‘have a nice day’ she flipped it to the back it said ‘but leave me out of it’ Luce said “do you have any other shirt that doesn’t have anything on it.” Alex said “no I hate shirts like that; they are pretty much pointless to me.” Luce said “well do you have any shirts that don’t have insults on them,” Alex thought then dug in her bag and pulled out a pink shirt that said ‘I was born perfect’ and had rein stones and sparkles on it “perfect you’ll actually look like a girl.” Alex glared then all of a sudden something small hit Luce “ouch Alex what was that for I was kidding.” Alex was confused “what I didn’t do that honestly I didn’t…wait what actually hit you.” Luce said “I don’t know something small” Alex ask “Were did it hit you.” Luce said “right in the back of my head.” Alex look behind Luce there was a window her first reaction was to look out it and sure enough some one was out there…it was Jake, but he didn’t throw it he was pacing out side the gate. Alex thought is it really four already Carle ran in “it sure is let’s go” Alex said “how are you going to hide from him?” Carle said “Please Alex we are witches what do you expect.” Alex smiled and said “Oh… I don’t get it.” Luce said “Magic, we are going to become invisible duh.” Alex hit her head softly and said “oh ok so I’m new at this so sue me.” They ran down stairs and Carle sprinkled some powder on her and Luce and mumbled some words and Alex whispered “Luce I can see you but where is mom.” Carle said “I’m right here next to you.” Alex said “well why can I still see Luce” Carle said “because you have your necklaces on and you’re twins you know where you are at all times.” Luce said “weird once when I was little…” “Hello…Alex who are you talking to.” it was Jake. Alex said “um myself I…am trying to remember…how to see far away, Carle taught me how.” Jake said “ok well you look great are you ready to go.” Alex said “yea let’s go.” Jake turned around and Alex looked at Luce and shrugged her shoulders. They made it passed the gate and Alex looked behind her at Luce who was gesturing to look forwarded Jake saw and said “what are you looking at.” Alex turned and looked at him and said “I was just looking at the house it’s so big I can’t imagine how not to get lost in it.” Jake said “Yeah I get lost very easily.” Alex was confused “I thought you’ve never been in the palace.” Jake stuttered “well… um no I haven’t I um was just saying.”
Chapter 7
Alex was suspicious now and looked into his eyes and saw an image of Keith but she looked at his eyes again and they were as black as his soul Alex stopped dead in her track Jake turned and said “what’s the matter?” Luce stopped and thought Alex what’s the matter with you? Alex thought he…he… it’s Aron he’s disguised as Jake. Jake said “Alex what’s the matter with you?” Luce thought it’s ok Alex don’t panic just stay cool keep walking I’ll talk to you for now. Alex said to Jake “Sorry I just spaced out.” Jake asked “did you have a vision?” Alex said “no that’s Luce’s thing.” Jake said “I tried getting you by reading your thoughts but I couldn’t read anything.” Alex looked around and then thought to Luce well at least he can’t read your thoughts. Alex said “I wasn’t thinking anything that’s why.” They were in the town now and they got to the Coffee Shop and got a table near enough to another table were Luce and Carle could hear them but Alex and Jake couldn’t hear them or Jake that is. Jake said “have you found your mom yet.” Alex said “yea and we found out our destiny too.” Jake said “oh well have you found your um necklaces?” Luce thought don’t say yes he can’t know and Alex thought I know that, I’m not stupid. Alex said to Jake “No what do they look like,” Luce elbowed her in the back “ouch I mean if it’s something cheesy like I don’t know a bolt of lighting and a rain drop that’s just weird.” Jake tilted his head a little and said “No it a waxing crescent, full moon, waning crescent that’s what it looks like a least when they are put together.” Alex thought to Luce again I think he knows we know so why don’t we just bust him now Carle jumped in and thought No he has to admit it before we do anything. Alex leaned forward and whispered “Look I know who you really are and don’t think I won’t tell everyone who you really are.” Jake said “are you sure you know who I really am.” Luce turned and thought Alex what are you doing Alex ignored her and said “Yea you are the kind of person who dose their research.” Luce thought next time you do something like that tell me please. Alex thought don’t worry I know what I’m doing I’ve done this before Luce was shocked and thought wow to who tell me Alex thought out loud on accident “I’ll tell you later.” Alex caught herself but it was to late and she said “I…I…I mean um I’m going to tell you something later.” Jake was suspicious and said “What are you going to tell me?” Alex said “um…well it a surprise.” Jake said “oh come on tell me.” Luce thought well what are you going to tell him miss obvious. Alex said “ok I’ll tell you I was going to see how this went then I was going to say I like you. You are nice.” Jake said “oh thanks I think you’re nice too.” Luce was stunned and shook her head. Alex though you got that right, can I just say I know its you Aron and be done with it I can’t take it any more. Carle told her fine then say this rhyme, with this spell turn back into who you really are, and don’t let them go far, make the ground under his feet tar. Alex stood and said “Look Aron and don’t try to talk your way out of it I know it’s you and now…” she was about to say the spell when Aron said “fine it is me but you’re not going to change me back.” and he stared at her but Carle mumble some words again and they were visible again but by then it was to late Alex was already out of it and on the ground from the spell it knocked herunconscious and with a snap of his fingers and a puff of smoke Aron was gone. They rushed to Alex’s side but no matter what they tried she would not wake up so they had to do the transportation spell to get home and when they were in Alex’s bed room they called for Aries and Serse but first Keith ran into the room and asked “What happened to her she was perfectly fine when you left.” Carle said “It was Aron, he’s back and he did this.” Keith said angrily “Where is he now I’m going to get him to change her back.” Aries and Serse came in and Carle said “I don’t know don’t think I would tell you if I did one of our children was… I don’t know but I want to get her back as much as you.” Luce said “Hello you still have one other child right here and you’re talking like she’s dead.” Aries said “Ok all of you come on get a grip and take a deep breath don’t panic just relax.” Luce said “Relax! That’s all you have to say my sister is unconscious, Aron is back and telling me to relax I’m sorry but that’s not good enough for me!” Aries said “I was telling you to relax because I have a poison to wake her up but it takes time.” Luce felt stupid now and said “Oh ok well sorry for yelling I just want my sis back.” Serse said “I know it’s difficult.” Luce said “thanks Serse.” Aries said “Luce open her mouth she will have to be force feed.” Luce said “won’t that hurt her?” Aries said “Do you want her unconscious for two weeks or do you want her to help you.” Luce said “Ok I get it I’ll do it.” Luce went over to Alex’s bed and opened her mouth and Aries poured the poison down her throat and said “it will take awhile for it to work.” Keith said “well how long will it be?” Aries said “it should be around 30 minutes to an hour or so.” Carle said “What, that long.” Aries said “these things take time.” For the next 30 minutes they sat there waiting…and waiting for the poison to work its magic. Then Alex’s eyes started to move inside her eyelids everyone saw it and they gathered around her bed and slowly her eyes opened and then she spoke in a sort of whisper “What happened to me?” Aries said “Aron put you under a spell.” Alex sat up quick then said “what,” then laid back down “how long have I been out.” Luce said “About 45 minutes” Alex said “what, what happened to Aron.” Carle said “he…got away.” Alex said “well we need to go get him he could be any one by now.” Serse said “no you need to rest you could have been killed any longer of him staring at you and you could have been gone.” Keith said “yes and I’ll have some one stay with you just for precautions.” Luce said “I’ll stay with her.” Alex said “ok but I want some one else with you just for back up.” and she thought Luce can you hear me Luce thought Yeah what do you want and why are you using your telepathy to get to me. Alex thought ‘cause did you hear me he could be any one, Luce thought oh I get it do you want me to check out every one besides mom. Alex thought yes, why not mom, Luce replied ‘cause she was here the whole time. Alex thought ok you don’t have to check mom. Serse said “I’ll stay too.” Alex looked at Luce and she did a little nod of her head to say it was ok then said “ok” every one left the room except for Luce and Serse, because of all that has happened they were very cautious and didn’t want anything to happen to any of them. Alex closed her eyes and pretended to sleep but really she was just thinking and not meaning to let Luce hear her this can’t happen to Luce I won’t let it, even if I have to I don’t know but it won’t happen that’s all I know. Luce heard very word of it she knew Alex didn’t want anything to happen to her but she didn’t know that she cared that much about her so while Alex was pretending to sleep Luce told Serse she would be right back but she wouldn’t be she was going to go find out where Aron was hiding so she could run back tell the others before Alex even knew about it. The first thing that Luce thought of was going to the place were Alex fell and ask around, but no one had heard or saw anything which was a real bummer for her. She looked into every pair of eyes she came across and yet again nothing came up. She almost was about to give up when she decided to go further into the woods so she walked into the opposite path leading away from the palace to were they found Carle she thought it might help because if that is were she found her mom then maybe that is were Aron is hiding. She walk for awhile and when she came to the house still there like they left it she walked through the gate to the door and thought of a spell to say to maybe take the protection spell of the house and said

Unprotect and turn off the alarm
Chapter 8
Alex shot up breathing heavily when she heard Luce saying the spell Serse rushed over and “What, what’s the matter” Alex said one word “Luce” that’s all she needed to say Serse called for everyone. They asked what Luce had said and Alex repeated the spell then Keith said “that’s the spell to disarm any spell that protects a house.” Carle ask “but what house did she disarm?” Alex said “our house in the woods I think she is trying to find Aron herself…she might have over heard me thinking to myself and I guess she wants to protect me too.” Aries said “Well what exactly did you say?” Alex thought for a minute “I think that I said this can’t happen to Luce I won’t let it, even if I have to I don’t know but it won’t happen that’s all I know.” Serse said “Why would you say that.” Alex said “well because I don’t want to lose anyone else I mean it would be hard on all of us.” Keith said “I understand that if she heard you then why would she go.” Alex said “I don’t know but I think she’s in trouble we need to find her.” Aries said “Well we need to go get her, are you ok to go find her.” Alex said “Yeah I’m fine let’s just go.” Back at the house in the woods Luce opened the door and walked through trying not to make a sound she quietly walked down the stairs and then she heard Luce where are you? She heard the thought of her sister and thought I’m in the cottage, where are you. She thought Alex thought to her I’m at the bottom of the stairs come down here so she keep walking down the stairs and when she was at the bottom of the stairs she found herself in total darkness she said out loud in a whisper “Alex where are you ?” A voice that sounded a little deeper than Keith’s said “No but I am you thought you could get away from me well I lead you strait into a trap.” Luce turned to run up the stairs but failed instead she tripped and fell. A pair of big hands helped her up but she struggled and struggled till she grew tired and gave up Aron said “you can’t escape me no matter what to do.” Luce said with a heavy breath “how did you get into my mind?” Aron said “there is always a way to get into other people’s minds even people as powerful as you.” Luce tried thinking really hard to get to the real Alex, ALEX HELP ME, but Aron had already tied her hands and feet. He turned on a light and dragged her to what looked like and closet door but when he opened it and put her down in a corner and turned on that light so that she could see around and in the other corner was a boy that looked like Jake and the real Jake not Aron. She whispered “Hey there is your name Jake.” The boy was what looks like he was sleeping with his hands and feet tied too and looked like he didn’t hear her so she tried again but a little louder he woke up and said “What did you say” she said “is you name Jake?” He said “Yeah who are you” he lifted his head up then said “Your Artemis thank you, are you here to help me.” Luce said “afraid not I’m Luce or Apolla or what ever and I’m in the same situation you are.” Jake said “Oh great you are one of the people to unite this place we’re boomed.” Luce’s mouth was open and said “Hey don’t blame me, I didn’t even know about this whole thing until this morning.” Jake took a deep breath and said “Fine well then where is your sister so she can get us out of here.” Luce said “Um well she’s at the um house resting see Aron was disguised as you and we were trying to expose him and it went a little wrong. It kinda back-fired on us and he um put a spell on her but she’s out of it and ok I just sent out for help she’ll be coming soon,” she bit her lip “at least I hope.” Jake pulled at the ropes but they didn’t budge and Luce thought that maybe just maybe if she could pulled it off she could unknot the rope if she tried hard enough. “Oh what is it that she dose” Luce said aloud. Jake said “How does who do what?” she hushed him she thought hard and then she remembered, she closed her eyes and cleared her mind except for untying the rope when she opened them up nothing happened. Jake gave her a hard time “What are you doing only your sister can do that you haven’t had enough practice.”
Chapter 9
They were just leaving the palace when Alex heard very loud ALEX HELP ME it was so loud she went to her knees and covered her ears but that didn’t help any thing. Keith rushed to her side and asked “what’s the matter Artemis?” Alex stood up and said “Luce is in trouble we need to hurry” Serse said “well then we need to travel fast.” Carle said “but it won’t work if we all go at once.” Serse said “not if we go in pairs Alex, you come with me, Carle and Keith you two travel together and Aries you go by yourself is that ok with you.” Aries said “it’s all right with me.” They made it there in a flash, literally, they slowly crept in and Alex thought so that Luce would hear, Luce where are you at. Luce was still concentrating hard then she heard Alex thinking to her. Luce’s heart sped up, Alex is that you where are you I’m in the basement but Aron is down here be careful. Alex breathed in deep and pointed to the steps and mouthed ‘Aron’ so everyone would know and then pointed to the out side so they could talk out loud they went out side. Alex said “Luce is down there but Aron is too so we need to wait till he comes out.” Alex thought to Luce we are going to wait till Aron leaves. Luce hit her head on the wall lightly and thought back ok I have a question how do you do that telepathic thing again Alex thought um you either close your eye or have them open and think of what you want to move, why Luce smiled and thought Thanks. Jake said “what are you doing?” Luce had her eyes close and thought hard of the ropes on Jakes coming undone and when she opened them Jake was taking them off he came over to take hers off when the door flew open and Aron was standing there Luce said “GO Jake go get yourself out of here and find my sister.” Jake ran and tackled Aron and he went flying back and Jake ran up the stairs and out of the door. Alex ran to Jake and punched him hard in the jaw and said “Where is my sister!?” sidle not what she wanted to do but did any way. Jake wiggled his jaw to make sure it wasn’t broken and said “In side, Artemis, you can’t go in alone it’s to dangerous.” Alex said “Why is it dangerous you out here Aron.” Jake said “I’m not Aron honest I’m the real Jake.” A little voice in Alex’s head said trust him which was actually Luce. Serse, Carle, Keith and Aries came by her side and Serse said “Alex, are you really going to trust this guy?” Alex said “Yeah I am sorry about that, Jake can you tell us what happened down there how did you get out” everyone was still skeptical but Alex. Jake replayed the scene in his head and told it to everyone. Alex said “is she ok and everything?” Jake said “When I left she was but right now I don’t know.” Jake saw the horrified look on Carle and Alex’s face then he rephrased “She’s going to be ok and she is ok.” he thought to himself I hope. Aron got up and walked to Luce and said “You aren’t supposed to have that power yet.” Luce said “Well I’m a fast learn deal with it.” Aron said “I don’t think so; you are going to wish you never did that.” Luce said with a strong voice “you would really get rid of your own niece.” Aron said “Why not I got rid of my brother so why not you.” Luce opened her mouth to say he didn’t but something stopped her then she thought of a plan. Luce thought to Alex, Aron thinks Keith is dead; use it. Aron came up to her and said “so do you think your pathetic sister and mother are going to help you now.” Luce said smartly “now I thought you couldn’t hear what I was thinking.” Aron slapped her. She just had her head turned for a little bit and then turned her head and said “you gonna pay for that.” Aron laughed stood and walked away closing the door behind him. It was dark so everyone out side decided to go home or that’s what Aron thought he had heard and thought that was the time to catch Alex when they weren’t looking but he heard wrong, they were really just Aries, Serse and Carle are walking home Keith, Jake and Alex are going to walk around and have Keith walk in and pretend to be a ghost to scare Aron out; was the plan. Aron trailed after them like planed and everything was going smoothly. Just as Alex and everyone had turned around Aron didn’t even notice. They went to the house Keith went in and got ready Alex follow to get Luce. She ran in and ran down stairs when she opened the door she found Luce in the corner and said in a whisper “Luce are you ok?” Luce lifted her head and said “What took you so long” Alex walked over to her and untied Luce’s feet then help her up when they stood up their necklaces got tangled up and formed a real triple goddess. A vibration made Alex and Luce fly back to the opposite sides and the necklaces came off and when they got up they saw the triple goddess in the air. They walked toward it and a deep voice said “you have unleashed a power greater than your own and will protect you from any thing; the power will grow more as you do, use it with respect for others and it will reward you.” After it was done they necklaces fell and became the color of gold. They picked them back up and put them on they felt and energy burst and when they went to leave Aron was standing in the door and said “hi girl are you ok.” he was pretending to be Keith. Alex said “oh we’re fine has Aron come back yet?” there was something that didn’t sit right with Luce so she looked into his eyes and they were as black as black could get. She played along. Aron said “no but you two should follow me so I can get you away from here.” Luce said “ok then where are we going.” Aron didn’t say a word. They walked out the door and Luce thought to herself hoping that Alex would hear, what am I going to do Aron is leading us somewhere and I don’t know what to do. Alex heard like she planed and thought well you should say something before we trust him, Luce smiled and replied ok so what are we going to do. What they didn’t know was that Jake was right behind them trailing behind because he saw them leave and knew that it wasn’t the real Keith. Alex thought well you could put that black belt to work and kick his butt to the next country; Luce rolled her eyes I’m only supposed to use it in self defense…… I guess this would count. Alex nodded and Luce got into position jumped and kicked Aron in the back and he fell forward. Jake ran to Alex’s side and said “well I guess you didn’t need my help,” Luce looked at him and said “No we do I need you to go to the house warn our dad and then go to the palace and warn them that we are coming with Aron on our tail tell Keith that we need- Alex but in “Sorry but his getting up,” Luce started run away and so did Jake and she said “just tell him to meet us at the mansion!” Aron was up and ran as fast as he could to catch them but couldn’t. Alex and Luce ran fast. Alex stopped and took out the book Serse had gave to her and flipped to a page she had marked earlier and said “Luce, read this with me:
Evil force that follows us
To the ground with a thrust
Then to the sky like a rockets thruster
Land in front of the palace gates
Where our family awaits
Aron was in the sky and landed with a boom in front of everyone’s feet, a few seconds later they saw Alex and Luce appear out of thin air, they did the transportation spell. Jake and Keith were there just seconds after. Aron was still on the ground probably unconscious or just didn’t want to get up. Alex and Luce looked at the others and asked “what do we do with him now?” Serse said “well for one thing awesome job girls and for the second thing we could banish him now that you have the power.” Carle looked at the girl’s necklaces and said “I’m so proud of you girls now you can reunite Lunasole.” Luce said “Well I think we shouldn’t banish him- “Why not, he tried to kill you and not to mention everyone else!” Alex said. “Well for one thing you can’t just banish people it’s not right.” Luce said looking at Alex and then to Aron, who was waking up. She found herself not scared but helping him up. The others watched in amazement and although she helped him up and kind of stood up for him he took a chance and ran. Luce through her hands in the air and said “Stop!” and he froze in midair. Alex said “Nice one sis.” “Well do you want him to escape or what?” said Luce with a little bit of anger in her voice. Alex shook her head and said “No but what are we going to do with him I mean he can’t stay frozen forever… or can he.” Carle shook her head. Aries said “well you could punish him somehow.” Luce didn’t know what to do and neither did Alex. They stood there thinking of how to punish him when it came to them like lightning they could make him be a servant to the people. They told the others because none of them knew what they were thinking which was fine with them. They all were tired from the long night since it was past midnight they decided to lock Aron in the basement which was kind of like a dungeon and could have been in the medieval times where he could sleep and made sure he couldn’t escape they put a spell that even he couldn’t escape and they all went to bed. While everyone was sleeping Alex couldn’t for some reason and she laid there in her bed think about random things from her mom to Miranda to her powers. Her mind would not rest even though she was so tired, sleep would not come easy for her and thought that she would distract herself by playing her guitar she brought from her old house and drifted off to sleep with her guitar on her lap. In the other room Luce was the same way she couldn’t sleep but she was thinking of the past three days had gone and that they only had four days to unite Lunasole. What would they tell her other parents? They couldn’t tell them that her and Alex united a magical island and that they lived there and they have powers beyond their imagination. She could never do that to her other parents they would think she was crazy and it might hurt them. Luce decided to see if she could distract herself by writing a song and slowly, but surely she fell asleep. They woke up slowly to Keith and Carle taking the guitar and taking the pencil from their hands. The morning was quite until Keith broke the silence and said “well you two really think alike you both had your music on well Artemis you had your guitar next to you and Luce you had a note book sitting by you.” Alex and Luce smiled and looked at each other. They didn’t realize that they had so much in common. Luce thought to Alex I didn’t know that you played, and Alex said “I didn’t know you did either.” Carle looked at them weird and then she got that Luce had thought something to Alex but she said it aloud and didn’t think to Luce instead. After breakfast everyone including Aron still frozen and in his normal form, he was tall and he had a go-tea and his eyes were black like Keith had said before. They all met in the library to decide what to do with Aron. They were discussing what they should do and had their backs turned to him and when they heard the maniacal laugh try turned and before the reacted Aron had snapped his fingers and was gone in a flash. Alex said “oh great now what should we do, he got away,” Jake said “well we have to go find him no matter what, he is still dangerous to you necklaces or not.” Carle said “I’ll be right back.” and ran out, when she returned she had a book in one hand and a map and in crystal with a string attached to it. She said “this is a tracking spell, I’m going to show you how to do it, so in the future you can use it.” Luce was all of a sudden over come with stinging eyes, a horrible headache and blurred vision and reached out for Alex but she had already moved from where she was standing and all Luce caught was air. Alex finally looked up and rushed to her side and when she touched her she could see what Luce was seeing. They saw themselves running fast and in front there was two horses waiting for them and behind them Aron was chasing them. They jumped on the horses and started galloping Alex turned to see what Aron was doing and she threw a poison at him and it landed in front of him and exploded and when she turned she hit a tree branch and fell off the horse Aron threw another poison and Alex was dead. When they both came to Carle, Keith, Serse, and Aries was standing over them. Luce was the first to speak “we shared a vision and it wasn’t a good one.” Alex just sat there with wide eyes trying not to panic but it took all she had not to panic. Luce knew that Alex was trying not to panic and really she was to she didn’t want to make Alex even more worried than before. Aries said “what happened in your vision,” Luce took her eyes from Aries to Alex and told them about the vision. When she was done and Alex didn’t feel dizzy any more she got up and walked over to the window and sat in the chair next to it and stared out the window. Luce went over to her and said “it will be ok I won’t let anything happen to you.” Alex looked from the window to Luce and said “I’m…,”she stopped and thought about it and began again “I’m fine, I’ll be fine.” Luce thought for a moment and gave her a hug then sighed; Alex asked “what was that for?” Luce looked kindly into her sister’s eyes and said “For staying with me and saving me;” she laughed a little “for being my sister and for always being there for me and I promise, nothing will get in our way of saving our home.” Alex stood up and said “you’re right, that why I’m going to get to our dear uncle Aron before he gets to me.” She walked out of the room and got a cloak that was on the back of a chair and put it on. Luce ran after her and yelled “You can’t just run out he’ll be looking for us together and when he sees you’re all alone he’ll come after you. Alex please don’t.” Alex snapped her fingers twice and became invisible even to Luce. Luce knew something bad was going to happen and didn’t like that. Alex ran to the market to get some ingredients to make an exploding poison for Aron. She walked from shop to shop when she finally realized that she was still invisible, she snapped her fingers again and she wasn’t invisible any more. She snapped her fingers again and she was able to leave Luce and her family out of her business. Someone put there hand on her shoulder, she grabbed it and twisted the person and flipped them over and in doing so her hood that was on was now off. Everyone that was at the market was looking at them now and staring. When she looked at the person who grabbed her, she saw that it was Jake and not who she was expecting (which was Aron). She covered her mouth with both hands and gasped then brought her hands together and rested them on her chin and said “I am so sorry; I didn’t mean to do that.” Jake didn’t say any thing apart from the fact that he didn’t know that she could do that. She helped him up and brushed him off and he asked “What are you doing here and where did that karate move come from?” Alex blushed and smiled “I know karate and I’m trying to find things to make an exploding poison…hey can you help me.” Jake smiled and nodded. Alex said “thanks” Jake then asked “what do you need it for any way?” Alex was afraid he would ask that so she said “just…you know.” Hoping he wouldn’t ask any more questions. Jake did any way and said “no I don’t know what.” Alex got irritated and it showed in her voice “will you help me or not, if not I’ll find someone else.” Jake was taken aback by her words and said “ok…ok I’ll help you.” They shopped for the ingredients and still no one had found her which was ok with her
